Basketball at Life Time Baybrook and RitzBBall … Was it a Coincidence 🤷🏽♂️
‼️”Sit-Rep” .. No.49 .. Follow-Up‼️
(That was fun! …. “Not!”😏)
Dr. Y…., my VA Oncologist just called.
He said he looked at the PET Scan and agrees with Dr. C….
He said there are definitely more spots that indicate Metastasis and the abundance appears to be in the bones with smaller lesions visible in the lower extremities.
🗣️ I hate to say “I told you so but…. 🤷🏽♂️
I told you so!🤡
He said that it would probably not help to try and eradicate the spots because there are too many and they are too wide spread and they are in the bones.
🗣️ I hate to say “I told you so but…. 🤷🏽♂️
I told you so!😈
We discussed options at length and he believes the best plan would entail injections and a an additional drug to keep the PSA and Testosterone as low as possible which would slow the spread… provided the cancer is not “castrate resistant”.
Next step is to check the PSA and see if it has gone up or down since the last Labs were taken. It was “190” then.
Labs on 23.April … then he and I will have our “chat”😈 and… “politely discuss” the plan of action.🤡
Can I be just a little repetitive here?
Dr. Y and his colleagues at the VA continue to impress me.👍🏽
👉🏽 In November of 2024 I wrote the following as part of this series:
Complete/Prognosis .. Yes / No
🤔 “To tell or not to tell” that is the question and the dilemma!
👉🏽 Based on information from the “National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship”
🤷🏽♂️ Do Oncologists Lie to Their Patients About Their Prognoses?
🤔 Why Many Oncologists Fail to Share Accurate Prognoses: They Care Deeply for Their Patients
Well Dr. Y… and Dr. C… have been great. I know “exactly” where I stand and what is in front of me according to each option I might decide to choose.
Honest but respectfully explained… and always giving me the chance to make my own decisions…. With some nudging of course!😏
So, here we are again, and the decisions don’t get easier from here.
Truth is … I think the 2nd round of Radiation ☢️ might have been a mistake.
But that’s history! What now?🤔
🏀 Basketball Analogy:
You played Man-to-Man in the 1st Qtr and lost it by 10 points.
You switched to Zone in the 2nd and lost it by 16 points.
What Defense do you start with in the 3rd Quarter?
You ask yourself “Was it the Defense?” “Would they have scored as much even if we had not changed?”
“Is there another Defense that we can use?”
….
My notes from previous seasons tell me to treat every game as a separate event.
If you win, great think about why…👍🏽 … move on!
If you lose, think about why, fix it… move on!
👉🏽 From my bible “If” by Rudyard Kipling …
🗣️ “If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster, and treat the two Imposters just the same!”
‼️ Once again, I want to preface this with a statement:
👉🏽 Nothing I say here should be taken as medical advice, because I am not the least bit qualified in any medical arena.
I have to read the instructions in order to get the cap off a bottle of aspirin.
My goal is to simply chronicle what has happened to me, how I have dealt with with Cancer related issues, the decisions that I have made, and their consequences.
You can look at all of that, evaluate it and decide if anything helps you decide which path you might follow.
