“When someone talks about taking a stroll down Memory Lane, I believe this is what they mean!”

I absolutely had to post this.

This is turning out to be a great ❤️day.
I sent a message and the first picture to one of the other guys in the picture.. He, in turn, sent these.
I love it!

This is what happened over the last 24 Hours.
I will give it a brief introduction and let the pictures tell the rest.

So, yesterday, the young man, upon whose shoulders I am precariously perched in this first picture, sent me a friend request on Facebook. It’s been almost 30 years since the last time I had contact with him.

I’ll be posting about him and his team in the very near future.

Then one of the guys I served with in the 11th ACR in Fulda sent me a picture.
We were a group of young lieutenants, and I have been waiting patiently for my car to arrive.
I had had it shipped from Fort Benning in Georgia to Germany.

We piled in and took off for Oktoberfest in Munich.. all I will say is that it’s good that we didn’t have smart phones with cameras back then.

Right after I got that picture, one of the young players that I had coached in Wartburg sent me some pictures.

Two absolutely uncoordinated and coincidental actions.
I sent the picture that my regimental friend sent me to one of the other guys in the picture.

He then sent me two more pictures.
I can close my eyes and literally picture in my mind, events, and people from that period in my life.

Yes, it’s been fun, and I am so glad that these guys have held on to some of the stuff that ties us together.
